An idyllic enclave, with views of the sea

The setting of Cap Roig is a place of breathtaking natural beauty, known above all for its Botanical Garden, its spectacular views of the Mediterranean and its proximity to dream beaches. Here, visitors can enjoy a unique combination of nature and history.

The Festival takes place next to the Cap Roig Castle, an early 20th century neo-medieval landmark built by the Russian Colonel Nicolai Woevodsky and his wife, the English aristocrat Dorothy Webster. Its style reflects the cultural fusion between Russia and England.

Cap Roig Castle Botanical Garden

Next to it is the Cap Roig Botanical Garden, one of the main attractions of the area. Created in 1927 by Russian Colonel Nicolai Woevodsky and his wife Dorothy Webster, the garden is home to over a thousand species of plants from all over the world. From cacti and succulents to Mediterranean and tropical plants, the botanical diversity is impressive.

Evolution of the Festival over the years

The Cap Roig Festival was first held in 2001 and has since grown significantly in popularity and prestige. Organised by the “La Caixa” Foundation, the event has become an unmissable summer cultural event on Costa Brava.

Over the years, the festival has featured artists such as Elton John, Sting and Diana Krall, consolidating its position as one of the most important music festivals in Europe

Each year, the festival has not only expanded its line-up of artists but has also improved its infrastructure and services to offer a unique experience to attendees. The combination of high-quality performances with the stunning setting of the Cap Roig Botanical Garden has been a winning formula.

In addition, the festival has worked to be more inclusive and accessible, implementing measures to facilitate the attendance of people with reduced mobility and adapting the spaces to ensure the comfort of all spectators.

Complementary activities at the Festival

In addition to the concerts, the Cap Roig Festival offers a variety of complementary activities that enrich the visitors’ experience, such as, for example, guided tours of the Botanical Garden before the concerts, which allow attendees to learn about the diversity of flora in the garden and enjoy spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea.

The event also remembers a high-quality gastronomic offer, in the restaurant and the terrace of the festival, by the Torres Brothers, chefs of the 3 Michelin-starred restaurant Hermanos Torres in Barcelona. In addition, Cal Blay Food Lovers, located in the Village area, offers a wide variety of dishes, from traditional Catalan tapas to gourmet options.
