Original proposals to celebrate International Friendship Day with your friends

International Friendship Day has been celebrated every 30 July in many countries since 2011. This date is promoted every year by the United Nations General Assembly, with the aim of spreading values such as peace, harmony, inclusion, understanding, respect and solidarity among people, communities and cultures around the world.

This is why it is a very special day to share with your friends, dedicate your time to them and take advantage of the simplest moments to strengthen the bonds and trust you have with them.

We suggest you enjoy this touching day by taking a getaway with your closest circle to Costa Blava, Costa Dorada and Barcelona, three ideal destinations to have fun and spend a few great days with your loved ones. If you are planning to celebrate International Friendship Day, you can count on Shuttle2Sun‘s shared transfer services and private transfer services, affordable and sustainable, from Barcelona airport, Barcelona port, Reus airport, Girona airport and Camp de Tarragona AVE train station

Below, we present a series of proposals that you can do with your friends, all along the coast of Catalonia

Escape to a campsite

One of the suggestions if you want to spend a few days on Costa Dorada or Costa Brava is to stay overnight at a campsite. Both areas have a wide range of this type of accommodation that allows you to enjoy all the benefits of the coastline to the fullest, such as the possibility of relaxing on the nearest beaches and coves, hiking in natural areas and practising outdoor and aquatic activities.

Among the most important options on the Costa Dorada, next to the Mediterranean Sea, are Camping Sangulí, in Salou; Camping Joan, in Cambrils; Camping Miramar, located in Montroig; Las Palmeras, in Tarragona; and Camping Tamarit, in Altafulla, among others.

All of them are very suitable choices for a getaway with your friends, with swimming pools, playgrounds, restaurants, fitness room and supermarkets. You can find more information about these accommodations in our publication ‘The 5 best campsites on Costa Dorada’

On the other hand, if you are thinking of visiting Costa Brava, we propose 4 very interesting campsites that will allow you to get to know the coastline and its nature in depth, with a wide range of services at your disposal. We highlight Camping Las Dunas, in Sant Pere Pescador; Camping Cala Llevadó, in Tossa de Mar; Camping Bella Terra, in Blanes; and El Delfín Verde, in Torroella de Montgrí. If you need more details, you can read our publication ‘The 4 best campsites on the Costa Brava’

So that you can get to the campsite of your choice quickly and comfortably, remember that you have Shuttle2Sun‘s economic and sustainable shared transfer services and private transfer services, either from Barcelona airport, the port of Barcelona, Reus airport, Girona airport, or the AVE Camp de Tarragona train station

Nautical and Aquatic Activities

You can spend a relaxing day on any of the sailing catamaran cruises offered on Costa Dorada. From Cambrils you can enjoy the Mediterranean Sea in its purest essence, or take a trip to the coves of Salou. A morning paddle surfing with your group of friends can be a very good option for sport and to test your balance. Or discover the coast from La Pineda to Salou’s Playa Larga beach. There you can cool off in any of the establishments you’ll find with the best views of the capital of the Costa Dorada.

For lovers of aquatic activities, you have the opportunity to discover the seabed of the coastline of the heart of the Costa Dorada, through two sea routes of approximately one kilometre each, where you will discover the other side of the sea and the richness of its biodiversity. Not to be missed!

Sightseeing day in Barcelona and Tarragona

Visiting the city of Barcelona is a great option to spend the whole day strolling through its most emblematic streets and neighbourhoods, visiting its most important museums and monuments, while you go into the thousands of shops that adorn its main streets.

One of the most famous buildings that you cannot miss if you visit Barcelona with your friends is the Sagrada Familia, the work of Antonio Gaudí, who was also the author of other spaces such as Park Güell, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. In addition, if you like museums and cultural centres, you can go and see the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC), the CosmoCaixa, the Parc de Montjuic and the Picasso Museum, among many others.

You can complement your visit to Barcelona by enjoying a bit of shopping in the luxury shops on Passeig de Gràcia, finding exclusive and original designs in the Born and Gracia neighbourhoods, and discovering vintage and artisan items in the Raval. There is also a wide variety of shopping centres in different parts of the city.

On the other hand, if you prefer to opt for a quieter city, but with a rich historical heritage, we suggest you visit Tarragona, a port city that stands out for its Roman past, formerly known as ‘Tarraco’.

The city’s architectural attractions include its walls, the amphitheatre, the theatre, the circus and the early Christian necropolis, among others, all of which have been declared World Heritage Sites. Tarragona also has a wide range of shopping centres and shops right on the street.

Remember that if you want to enjoy the day in any town on Costa Dorada, Barcelona or Costa Brava, Shuttle2Sun offers you its shared transfer services and private transfer services, to take you wherever you want, from Barcelona airport, the port of Barcelona, Reus airport, Girona airport and the AVE Camp de Tarragona train station.
