The Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes

This monument is located in the heart of Cap de Creus, specifically in the Verdera mountain range, next to Verdera castle and the Santa Creu settlement.

Thanks to its archaeological work, constructions dating back to the 6th century have been documented.

It has become the most famous pilgrimage centre in the county of Empúries, thus adding to its influence and power. Its church forms part of the main complex and is a reference of Catalan Romanesque architecture.

After the 14th century, the monastery suffered a decline due to war conflicts and epidemics in the area.

It was finally abandoned in 1797.

You will have at your disposal a restaurant to discover the typical products of the region.

Girona Cathedral

It was built between the 11th and 18th century and is recognised as an icon of the city for its Gothic and Baroque architectural style.

It is the most photographed monument in Girona due to its imposing staircase façade and the largest gothic nave in the world measuring 22.98 metres.

The famous series Game of Throne took advantage of its façade for some scenes in the sixth season.

The Wall

Nowadays the walk along the city wall is a highly recommended activity if you come to Girona. During the modern and medieval Carolingian period, the wall underwent several reforms due to defence tactics and the needs of the city.
